People debate various topics in their lives and rankings have been a large portion of those debates. The greatest this or the greatest that and the top how many of this or that are usually beginnings of these arguments. Whether it is about sports, entertainment or any other interest that brings out peoples passion, opinions fly more than anything from our regular every day lives. The first debate I chose is about basketball.
A basketball lifer puts together the all-time greatest players in order by position in an in-depth list with lots of explanation to help guide the reader through historical and modern players. Besides position order, players are selected into the all-time team of twelve, the greatest fifty and one hundred. An added bonus is the top thirty coaches of all-time and statistics for all players involved.
Social discussions on where players rank in history usually brings argument and controversy into the discussion. This work will help facilitate these debates. Historic rankings of athletes are typical water cooler discussions.
What I have been going for I am calling “Need To Argue- Make A List,” and basketball is the first of a series that I have planned. Most other lists are top tens and are too brief to provide enough discussion. There never is enough room for players from all eras to see where they would belong with the all-time greats. I have a much more in-depth ranking that readers will discuss more.
Whenever A.F.I. comes out with a new list each year, they tend not to solve any debates, but to cause them and add fuel to the fire on the discussions about movies. This is what would be a result of my work for the basketball fan.
That is who my target audience would be- the basketball fan. Any age fan who can argue over one players worthiness over another’s is whom this is intended for.
